INDUSTRY RESEARCH · HUMANOID ROBOTS
Taking new energy vehicle manufacturing as an example, how to break down the application opportunities of humanoid robots into specific and verifiable types of work.
When humanoid robots enter industrial sites, the key issue is not whether they can complete a demonstration, but whether they can work stably within the established rhythm, safety requirements and cost constraints. M2's "2025 Humanoid Robot Application Scenario Insight White Paper: Industrial Scenarios" takes new energy vehicle manufacturing as a key scenario and discusses candidate work types such as handling, quality inspection, work station connection and basic assembly.
Judging suitability from task structure
Let’s first look at the task structure of the process.Record material form, operating frequency, space conditions and manual collaboration methods to distinguish highly repetitive actions from steps that require on-the-spot judgment. The clearer the task boundaries, the more comparable technical verification and revenue measurement will be.
Build field integration into the plan
Let’s look at on-site integration. In addition to the robot body, the fixtures, work stations, scheduling systems, maintenance processes and safety mechanisms jointly determine the difficulty of delivery. Whether a scenario is suitable for implementation first depends on whether the entire system can be integrated into the existing production line.
Use total cost to verify implementation value
Finally, look at economics.Put equipment procurement, integrated debugging, training, downtime and maintenance costs on the same scale, and compare them with manual configuration and existing automation solutions. Industrial applications need to be verified on a work-by-work basis, and it is not appropriate to directly extrapolate the results of a certain work station to the entire factory.
